Agate is a form of chalcedony, a mineral in the quartz family, characterised by its fine grain and bright colours. It forms in volcanic rocks and is known for its distinctive layered appearance. These layers create unique patterns that vary widely, making each piece of agate one of a kind. The colours can range from soft pastels to vibrant reds and blues, often with translucent qualities.

Agate has been valued for thousands of years. Ancient civilizations used it for amulets, jewellery, and even tools. The Greeks believed agate could protect against storms and bring courage, while in the Middle Ages, it was thought to heal insomnia and strengthen eyesight.

Moss agate is an earth stone helping us heal both emotionally and physically. Helps us find guidance from nature, trees and ferns all connect through this stone.
